Meditation for Your health

There are different types of meditation and techniques such as mindfulness, loving kindness, and visualization, but the prime goal for meditating is to reach a state of inner peace and tranquility that is beyond the human mind. Meditation is the creation of awareness to find ones true-self and the experience of finding ones’ own essential nature and enlightenment. Learning to accept oneself, along with each and every flaw, is to become whole. Understanding the true person, we are inside and out, is the beginning of self-love and acceptance.  Meditation is a journey for anyone seeking to improve themselves beyond what is known to be and learning to just be. Through meditation there is a balance that can be found and achieved by one who seeks it. Balancing each of the seven chakras through Reiki and meditation promotes general health and well-being to those who use the practice regularly. Opening the flow of the life force energy throughout the body helps maintain balance mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Doing this provides stronger health for the human body, both inside and out. Meditation strengthens oneself and provides an awakening within that teaches the true meaning of ones being and path of development. As this occurs the mind is retrained to achieve focus and is more able to control the chaotic thoughts running hectically through it. Also known as the “monkey mind”. The benefits of practicing meditation regularly can improve one’s health physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Here are just a few ways: Physically:Relaxes musclesReduces blood pressureLowers heart rateBoosts immune system Mentally:Lowers anxietyReduces stressImproves focusImproves mental health Emotionally:Reduces DepressionHelps release & let goHeals within Builds Confidence Spiritually:Strengthens Enhance self-awarenessProvides enlightenmentRealize one’s true-self Many dwells on the idea of, in order to meditate correctly, one must be able to completely clear their mind of all thoughts and thinking. This is unfortunately misrepresented and interrupted. With practice, meditation becomes easier and more beneficial to the user. As with anything, understanding before you begin, helps tremendously. If meditation is done correctly, there are no worries or dangers. Doctors, specialist and health professionals suggest meditation to their patients on a regular basis. Help is always available for meditation. Many people use guided meditations. These are a great way to begin for...

Changing Negativity Within

Negativity is the expression of criticism of or pessimism about something. When someone is negative, it can create issues such as depression, anxiety, fear, sadness, hopelessness, and more. These issues cause an unhealthy stress level which can create other major health problems. Fortunately negativity is a mind set that can be reprogrammed. Many people accomplish this by using an easy technique everyday that they found changed their own personal moods and attitudes. When using the techniques people are finding its helping them become more aware of the things they are doing that contributes to their negative behaviors and moods. Awareness is one of the key factors in making positive changes. You need to know what to change. With the use of simple positive affirmations on a daily basis, one begins to discover self-growth and worth. Whether it’s helping with self esteem, confidence, self-love or something else, it’ll improve their mood, attitude, and mindset. Affirmations are positive statements that we say to ourselves to help us get past issues of self-sabotaging or negative thoughts. Many people do what’s known as “negative talk” to themselves. It can be a thought or thinking that you’ve done something wrong, stupid, or dumb. But this train of thinking is what creates the negative energy process. Anything belittling to or thinking negatively towards yourself is creating a pattern in your subconscious that grows into an image of how you actually see and perceive the person you are today, even if you’re unaware of doing it. By using the positive affirmations each day, your mind will start thinking in a different manor as it begins reprogramming itself. At first your mind will probably laugh at the affirmations and perhaps even poke fun at them. This is normal because you don’t yet believe the positive things the affirmations are showing you. Keep working at it and you’ll see the changes occur after time. It’s breaking the ugly habit and cycle of the negativity which will take time but be worth the work. Remember it took time for those negative seeds to be planted and to grow in the first place and how many years have they been there working at tearing you down. So give the positive energy a chance to grow. After all, the seed is just getting planted and needs time too. There are many different...

Causes and Effects of Stress:

Sometimes stress can be an incentive to get things done which in turn is a good thing but when stress continues and becomes a long term factor then it can wreak havoc in your life.  Let’s face it, stress is in everyday living, the kids screaming, the boss’s deadline, the chores needing to be done, that person who ran the red light, and so on. But if you don’t take control of it, it’ll start controlling you. Stress can interfere with your life by starting fights within your family or with friends right down to affecting your own health physically and emotionally.  Stress has different triggers for each person. Although the main trigger for stress reported by people seems to be their work.    •Heavy work loads   •Long hours   •To much responsibility    •Having poor management   •Job insecurity    •Discrimination or      harassment at work   •Unhappy with job And on top of the work issues listed above, there’s the life stressors that are gone through as well.    •Moving    •Illnesses    •Caring for loved ones   •Divorce   •Financial Obligations/Bills   •Death of someone    •Getting Married   •Loss of a job   •Events that effect you in a      negative way    •Emotional problems        Depression, Anxiety, Grief,       etc.  Then if those stress factors aren’t enough, many people inflict self-stress onto themselves by literally stressing out over uncontrollable things such as    •Fear    •Uncertainty   •Worrying    •Unrealistic expectations   •Perceptions   •Change There are different levels of stress and it all depends on how a person responds to a situation. Something that will affect you as a minor hiccup, can totally stress another person out to the point of becoming sick.  The effects of stress on the health of your body can be quite serious. When you are in a stressful situation, your body reacts with what’s called a “flight or Fight” response. This is because the body’s nervous system releases hormones which causes you to react. Some people even notice their heartbeat speeds up or breathing gets faster and some feel their muscles tense and even start to sweat. Fortunately, the body usually recovers quickly from it but if your stress level...

Understanding Gluten Free

This might be one of the latest fads for some people who choose to eat healthier and choose to be on a gluten free diet but for those with Celiac disease or wheat allergies, there is no choice!  Both are caused by a reaction to protein found in wheat, barley and rye. The difference in the two are, celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder to only gluten, and wheat allergies are an immune response to any of the different proteins found in those foods, along with the gluten.  Symptoms of a wheat allergy usually occurs within minutes of wheat consumption but can take up to two hours after. A wheat allergy, like other allergic reactions, can range from mild to life-threatening.  Wheat allergies can have symptoms of: Nausea up to vomiting  Diarrhea  Mouth and throat irritation  Sinus congestion  Rash and/or hives Irritation of eyes Severe Breathing difficulties (Anaphylaxis) Celiac disease also has serious health issues which can include permanent damage to intestinal organs. It’s an autoimmune disorder that causes your immune system to respond abnormally to gluten. This abnormal response causes the immune system to destroy the villi (parts of the small intestine that absorbs nutrients) which can lead to malnutrition and other health problems. Ultimately, the organ literally attacks itself causing extreme discomfort and pain for the person.  People with celiac disease suffers if they ingest any amount of gluten.  For children the symptoms can be: Delayed puberty  Shortness  Irritability in mood Weight loss Dental defects  Other health issues due to lack of nutrients.  Diagnosing adults with celiac disease is difficult because symptoms mimic many other chronic conditions. In Adults the symptoms can be: Abdominal bloating  Intestinal gas Chronic diarrhea Constipation Foul-smelling stool Stomach pain Nausea and/or vomiting Digestive symptoms  Fatigue  Headaches Anemia Osteoporosis  Depression  Anxiety  Joint pain  Canker sores Infertility or miscarriages Missed menstrual period Tingling of hands and feet Lately there has been a new increase of people who don’t have any allergies to wheats nor do they have celiac disease but have had related gluten conditions and symptoms. Researchers are trying to find the exact cause for this unknown occurrence. The newly discovered condition is called;  Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS).  The most common symptoms of NCGS is: Mental fatigue (brain fog) Fatigue  Abdominal pain  Gas, Bloating...
